“Nepotism Exists In Every Industry,” Tamannaah Bhatia Shares Her Personal Experience

In recent times, many people have voiced their opinion against nepotism in showbiz. However, only a few of them have actually shared their personal experiences about it. Speaking of which, actor Tamannaah Bhatia recently shed light on the subject based on her personal experiences in the industry.

The ‘Baahubali’ actor said that nepotism, favoritism, and petty politics are part of every industry including the film industry. However, she feels these things do not affect one’s success or failure. Calling herself an outsider, she was quoted saying by Hindustan Times,

“Coming from Mumbai, when I started doing Tamil and Telugu films, I neither knew the languages nor did I know anyone in the industry. So I had no connection whatsoever. I worked hard and kept getting opportunities maybe because people saw potential in me. Whatever success or failure I got on my way was because of my efforts and destiny.”

Elaborating her take on nepotism further she added, “My family has a lot of doctors, and now if I had taken interest in the profession like my brother then they would have also guided me. Tomorrow, if my child wants to become an actor, I’d do the same. That’s how it works, there’s nothing wrong in that.”

Tamannaah mentioned how hard work always pays off no matter what. She cited examples of SRK, Ayushmann Khurrana and Kartik Aaryan, saying they were outsiders but they still made it to the top. However, she feels that star kids do get more opportunities than an outsider, reports Republic World.

In fact, the actor shared her own struggle story as well. She mentioned that there was a  time when all her Hindi films were tanking at the box office but she still got a humongous project like Baahubali. She added,

“It became one of the most popular Indian films and that changed things for me. It made me believe in myself and move out of my comfort zone. So I did take a few chances in my career, whether they worked or not wasn’t in my hands. But I’m happy.”

Well, there is no shortcut to success. Everybody needs to put in a lot of effort to reach the top. What do you think? Tell us.
