Padhai-Naukri-Shaadi: Desi Redditors Discuss The Need For Taking A Break From This Cycle

“22 tak padhai, 25 pe naukri, 26 pe chokri, 30 pe bachche, 60 pe retirement … aur phir maut ka intezaar … dhat aaisi ghisi piti life thodi jeena chahta hoon.” We all remember Bunny’s dialogue from the film ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’. And I’m sure all of us have experienced having a burnout in at least one of these pre-decided stages of life or another, which often end up affecting our mental health negatively.

A desi Redditor finally voiced the million-dollar question we all have had in our minds- ‘Why don’t we ever take a break?’ He asks people for their honest opinions on and personal stories if they’ve ever taken a gap year and how beneficial they find it to be. Check out his question:-

We too have come across success stories and experiences shared by people before. For instance, people celebrating quitting their toxic jobs which were affecting their mental health, or a 16-year old who took a gap year after 10th and learned more than our education system taught her.
