After he appeared on the show, people like Uorfi Javed and Delhi Commission for Women chief Swati Maliwal slammed the makers of the show for allegedly supporting the accused and urged for his removal from the show.

According to India Today, Maliwal wrote a complaint letter to DCP Prashant Gautam of the Delhi Police Cyber Crime Department highlighting the seriousness of the matter. Following her complaint, the Delhi Commission for Women sent a letter to the Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur asking him to intervene and remove Sajid Khan from the said show.

However, the moment the commission started taking action on the matter, Maliwal was flooded with rape threats on Instagram.

Taking to Twitter, she informed that she has filed a complaint and registered an FIR against the people giving her such threats online.

“Ever since I wrote a letter to the I and B minister to get #SajidKhan out of Bigg Boss, I have been receiving rape threats on Instagram. Obviously, they want to stop this. I am filing a complaint with Delhi Police. Register FIR and investigate. Arrest those who are behind this.”

Twitter was appalled on hearing that a woman in power is getting rape threats online. Imagine what other women have to face online on a daily basis.

Since October 2018, Sajid has been accused of sexual harassment by several female colleagues including actor Mandana Karimi, Sherlyn Chopra, and journalist Karishma Upadhyay among others. Following this, the Indian Film and Television Directors’ Association imposed a ban on Khan from directing films for a year.

This piece of news and the statements of the victims is all over social media. Despite that, the makers of Big Boss decided to support him. Moreover, people are also brushing the issue under the carpet and threatening those who are raising their voices against the accused. What a time to be alive!
