News18 reports that Pratibha Pal, who is the commissioner of the Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC), had launched a ‘Safai Mahotsav’ on August 14. The aim of the public campaign was to reportedly encourage people to participate in the cleanliness of the city as the municipality’s sanitation workers were on leave that day to the festival of Goga Navmi.

She said, “The participation by the locals in this campaign was a celebration and many took pride in themselves. The spirit of cleanliness is ingrained in the blood of ‘Indories’.”
