Sushmita Gets Criticized For Offering Oxygen To Delhi Hospital From Mumbai, Sen Responds

Following an acute shortage of oxygen cylinders faced by several hospitals in the national capital due to the rise of COVID-19 cases, Bollywood actress and former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen is one of the latest celebrities who joined in to do her bit. She asked for help to transport and send some cylinders to help those in need.

It all started when Sushmita tweeted in reaction to a news video where a Shanti Mukand Hospital’s CEO named Sunil Sagar broke down on camera as he spoke of the oxygen shortage crisis that they’re facing at their hospital in Delhi.

Moved by this, she asked her followers to help her by suggesting a way through which she could send the required cylinders to Delhi from her current location Mumbai. She had already arranged some oxygen cylinders for the usage of Mumbai’s hospitals, but needing the right channel to do so in Delhi as well, India Today reports.

And yet, her noble intentions drew the ire of a Twitter user who quizzed her asking why she is sending the oxygen cylinders to Delhi and not helping Mumbai hospitals instead. Have a look:

Sushmita went ahead and hit back at the user giving an apt response. She said-

Later, in a subsequent tweet, she revealed the good news to her fans that the hospital in need has finally received the required oxygen cylinders from somewhere else. She also thanked her fans and followers for helping create awareness.

She tweeted-

Rightly said, Sushmita! Staying good-hearted and helping others in whichever way we can is the need of the hour, especially now as India currently recorded a grim milestone of 3.3 lakh new reported coronavirus cases today.
