It won’t be incorrect to call Sushma Swaraj, the Minister of External Affairs a modern white knight. From helping an Egyptian lady with getting a medical visa to bringing a stranded Indian home, she makes sure everyone gets the help they need, especially when someone tweets to her.
However, this time Sushma Swaraj showed her angry side to the social media when a person tweeted something really strange to Ms Swaraj.
It all started when Smit Raj, an IT professional from Pune tweeted a transfer request to Sushma Swaraj for her wife who is an Indian Railways employee in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh.
Smit labelled their ordeal as a ‘banwas (vanvaas)’ and was expecting a helpful reply from Ms Swaraj.
However, Ms Swaraj was not pleased with the request at all. She send a furious tweet back to Smit.
If you or your wife were from my Ministry and such a request for transfer was made on twitter, I would have sent a suspension order by now. https://t.co/LImngQwFh6

Sushma Swaraj didn’t stop just there, she also directed the tweet to Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu.
@sureshpprabhu I have received this tweet.pic.twitter.com/gXhQAhQNA8

To which Mr Prabhu had a prompt reply.
1/Thanks @SushmaSwaraj ji for bringing it to my notice.As per policy laid by me,I don't look into transfers.Railway Board empowered for same https://t.co/WSqxinGx1u

2/Asked Chairman,Railway Board to take suitable action as per rules https://t.co/WSqxinGx1u

We don’t have any further update on the incident but Smit would definitely think twice before tweeting anything next time, especially to a cabinet minister.
