It Took Sushma Swaraj 1 Tweet To Help A Russian Lady Who Was Thrown Out By Her Indian In Laws

Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj has been in the limelight lately with her prompt replies to people’s tweets and sending out quick help as and when they need it. No doubt she’s the most followed female leader on Twitter.

And now, she has helped resolve yet another issue. This time, it is a young Russian woman and her daughter who were married to a man from Agra.

Olga Efimenkova, a Russian national residing in India, was kicked out of her house by her in-laws in Agra, and she took to Twitter to state that she’s protesting against them.

In the video, she states that she married a Vikram Singh Chandel and that his mother had thrown her out of the house and also mentally tortured her for not bringing in dowry and that she has been a bad influence on her son.

Sushma Swaraj took note of this video and forwarded the matter to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, who took prompt action.

This quick action coupled with the power of social media helped Olga reunite with the only family she knows in Agra, her in-laws. Olga and husband Vikram have a three-year-old daughter named Dasaha, and they resided in Goa previously, where Vikram ran a restaurant.

She also thanked Mr. Yadav for his speedy response. And so did Olga.

Thus, the power of social media and the presence of mind of Sushma Swaraj has helped yet another family.

Thank you, once again, Ms. Swaraj!
