Sushant Singh Rajput Denies #MeToo Allegations, Shares Chat Screenshots With Co-star As Proof

Bollywood’s #MeToo wave is far from over, with fresh allegations surfacing every other day. And the latest name to be dragged in the news is actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

Back in August, rumours were doing the rounds that Sushant Singh Rajput had gotten a little too friendly with his Kizie And Manny co-star Sanjana Sanghi. The newcomer was said to be very uncomfortable by this.

The report said that Sanjana had told her parents about it, who then advised her to return to set only if she felt comfortable to. As a result, the shooting of this ‘Fault In Our Stars‘ adaptation had come to a standstill.

While the allegations of harassment have somehow surfaced again in lieu of the #MeToo movement, Sanjana Sanghi herself is yet to issue a comment on this.

Sushant Singh Rajput, however, has denied the allegations and shared on Twitter screenshots of his chats with Sanjana Sanghi as proof that no such harassment happened.

Calling the allegations a “curated and well-timed smear campaign,” the actor expressed regret over revealing the private conversation but iterated that there was no other way to put his side of the story forward.

The director of the film, Mukesh Chhabra, had previously also denied the rumours of any such incident happening between his lead actors.

On Thursday again, after the allegations resurfaced, Chhabra spoke up in support of Sushant Singh Rajput, in a tweet that’s now been deleted.

“I totally stand by @itsSSR – no such incident happened on the sets and let’s not have a Twitter trial and make an innocent person suffer for somebody else’s ulterior motives I had clarified this on twitter long back and I still maintain it.”

Ironically enough, Mukesh Chhabra, who’s a popular casting director, has also been accused of sexual harassment by two aspiring actress.

Chhabra has called them “unsubstantiated wild anonymous allegations”. However his company, Mukesh Chhabra Casting Company’s ICC has initiated an inquiry into the matter.

However, Fox Star Studios has issued an offical statement announcing the suspension of Mukesh Chhabra as director of Kizie And Manny.

People are now calling upon Sanjana Sanghi to issue a statement regarding this allegations.
