Suresh Prabhu To Build A Railway Route To “Mountain Man” Manjhi’s Home As A Tribute To Him

Manjhi.

The film of the same name did incredibly well, and the story of the man behind that name is inspirational, to say the least. It’s the story of relentless desire to do something that changes the world.

Suresh Prabhu, our Railway Minister wants to see if a railway line could be laid in Dashrath Manjhi’s village Gehlore and intends to name it as a tribute to the “Mountain Man”.

“What can be done so that the memory such a great person remains permanently in the minds of people, I will discuss it today and tomorrow.”

Manjhi, who cut through a mountain for 22 long years to make way for people of adjacent villages to travel without going through the other dangerous path.

He had walked from Gaya to Delhi to meet Indira Gandhi along the railway tracks.

Even though the road created by Manjhi was a great help, the nearest railway station to the area is still 8 km away in Jethian.

It was Manjhi’s lifelong dream to see his village better connected.

This is definitely a big step!
