There are many well-kept secrets of Bollywood and the film starts that only the ones associate with it or keeping a close eye on it can disclose. Did you know that decades ago, Bollywood actors Abhishek Bachchan and Karisma Kapoor were reportedly all set to marry?
It is claimed that they fell for each other on the sets of ‘Haan Maine Bhi Pyaar Kiya.’ But sadly, they parted ways. Talking more about this insider news, filmmaker Suneel Darshan, who also produced ‘Haan Maine Bhi Pyaar Kiya’ said “There were no rumours. It was confirmed,” reported Hindustan Times.
“They were a couple and getting married. We have attended the engagement. I was a part of that. The Kapoor sisters were very close because of my respect for Babita Ji. Where Abhishek was concerned, ‘Haan Maine Bhi Pyaar Kiya’ was a special movie and it needed to be. It was the only movie where Abhishek and Karisma Kapoor were cast together. They never worked together before or after.” (sic)
According to Darshan, they were not ‘destined’ to be together as there was constant bickering. He said, “They were really not the ‘made for each other’ kind.”
“There was constant bickering. Maybe that’s how some people are. I always wondered if they are really the ‘made for each other’ kind of pair. Abhishek is a sweet fellow. Lolo (Karisma’s nickname) is a very nice person too. But maybe some things are destined.” (sic)

Spilling more beans from B-town, Darshan alleged that Akshay Kumar’s wife, Twinkle Khanna, had raised objections to him working with Priyanka Chopra which is why he dropped out of his film ‘Barsaat’ and later Bobby Deol was cast in his place.
Hindustan Times quoted him sharing, “Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra were a very good pair, very similar in terms of their personal traits. They had amazing chemistry. I thought the song looked beautiful; no vulgarity, no obscenity, very sensuous. Then Priyanka went for a world tour, and when she came back I don’t know what happened in between.” (sic)
“By then, I had also got to know of the other issues that had come up between him and his wife. She had issues with Priyanka, I was told. I feel the profession has its own hazards. Sometimes, the proximity, sometimes the individual’s own lifestyles, all these things come in the way and the media blows it out of proportion, without realizing how much loss a filmmaker could suffer because of it.” (sic)
Suneel Darshan, a film director, producer, and writer in the Bollywood industry also revealed lesser-known confidential news about Bollywood stars Kajol and Ajay Devgn.
The Director and producer of ‘Ek Haseena Thi Ek Deewana Tha’ alleged that Kajol’s in-laws didn’t want her to continue her career in acting after getting married to Ajay. But by then, Kajol was already cast for his film ‘Jaanwar’ starring Akshay Kumar.
A report by The Indian Express quotes him saying, “Kajol was supposed to do the role that eventually went to Shilpa Shetty in the film ‘Jaanwar’. She was locked for it, to be honest, verbally locked. But we got to know later.” (sic)
He alleged that one day Kajol’s mother Tanuja called him to her house and broke the news. She said, “You know, she’s getting married, and they don’t want her to pursue a career.”
