The New York Times reports that the co-founders will still retain seats on the board and a majority of the company’s voting shares. In a letter, they informed everyone about their decision by saying,
Sundar Pichai is now the CEO of both Google and Alphabet. In addition to leading Google, he will also manage the parent company’s investment in the portfolio of Other Bets.
I’m excited about Alphabet’s long term focus on tackling big challenges through technology. Thanks to Larry & Sergey, we have a timeless mission, enduring values and a culture of collaboration & exploration – a strong foundation we’ll continue to build on https://t.co/tSVsaj4FsR

The world"s most powerful company names a simple, middle class-born from Chennai as its overarching CEO, while defaulting scions of crony-controlled business empires play around with India's economy. Enough said.#SundarPichai
