Bengaluru Residents Share Stunning Pics Of A ‘Sun Halo’ Visible In The Sky

Last week, residents of Delhi were sharing stunning photos of trees and streets covered with the beautiful Amaltas blossoms and turning everything a vibrant hue of yellow. Now, the city of Bengaluru is witnessing a phenomenon known as the ‘sun halo’ due to which a circular ring is being seen around the Sun resembling a pale rainbow, reports Times Now News.

It is said to be a predictor of upcoming rainfall. Take a look at all the brilliant visuals shared by Bengaluru residents on Twitter.

According to the Farmers’ Almanac, it is “caused by the refraction, reflection, and dispersion of light through ice particles suspended within thin, wispy, high altitude cirrus or cirrostratus clouds. As light passes through these hexagon-shaped ice crystals, it is bent at a 22° angle, creating a circular halo around the Sun.”

How wonderful of the skies to give us such views on a working Monday afternoon!
