Sumeet Vyas And Girlfriend Ekta Kaul Are Engaged, Wedding To Be In September!

Only a few months ago, Sumeet Vyas played husband to one of the Veeres in Veere Di Wedding. Little did we know then that this year, we’d be witnessing Sumeet Di Wedding too, where he’d be playing husband IRL! The Permanent Roommates actor has been dating Mere Angne Mein actress Ekta Kaul for a while now. And it’s wedding bells for the two already!

Earlier this week, Sumeet Vyas popped the question to girlfriend Ekta Kaul and she said “Yes!”

In an interview with Bombay Times, Sumeet revealed that it was an instant ‘Yes’ from Ekta!

“Ekta is a beautiful person. I decided to pop the question a few days ago and slipped a ring on her finger before she could change her mind! I am glad she loved it and has accepted my proposal.”

But it wasn’t all as smooth as you think! Sumeet revealed the tiny glitch in the plan….

“Unfortunately, I got the size of the ring wrong, which can be expected from a guy like me.”

Arre yaar!

Thankfully though, all’s well in paradise because Ekta is equally crazy about her ‘crush-turned-life partner, Sumeet!

She spoke to Bombay Times,

“Marrying the man you love is a great feeling, but tying the knot with your crush is an achievement. I am happy that I am marrying Sumeet.”

Ekta even revealed how Sumeet had taken the traditional route and sought her parents’ permission first, before asking her!

“Actually, before slipping the ring, he had come to Jammu to speak to my parents and then he proposed marriage to me. I don’t know why he felt I would not say yes immediately. I will never say no to him.”

That is adorable!

So do we have a wedding date? Yes, we do! It is going to be a September wedding for the much in love couple!

They’ve reportedly requested their friends and family to ‘save the date’ of September 15 for an intimate wedding ceremony. Sumeet told BT,

“My family really adores Ekta. When we met her folks in Jammu, we were floored by their love and hospitality. We were like, let’s not try to compete with them. We are planning a warm and intimate wedding ceremony.”
