If this incident would have happened some 3 years back, everyone would have accused Salman Khan of plagiarism! In his blockbuster, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Bhai turned the world upside down to reunite five-year-old Munni with her mother in Pakistan.
A similar real-life story of a stranger helping a five-year-old girl from Seria to travel to the US has been doing rounds on the internet.
15 years back, a mother asked a stranger to help her five-year-old daughter travel to the US from war-stricken Sierra Leon for emergency medical treatment. Zee Sesay could not accompany her daughter Maya Huges to the US in 2003 when she faced a life-death emergency and so approached a stranger at the airport and asked him to help her out.
So in 2003 I was 5 years old and my mom decided out of thin air one day that we were going to Africa and we were gonna stay there for 6 months so about 4 months in something OC happened that I won’t go into detail about and long story short I had to leave ASAP

The little girl, who is now a grown up 20-year-old lives in California presently. She, recently, shared her story on Twitter. The Twitter thread went viral as soon as it was shared by none other than the stranger itself.
Tom Perriello, now a Virginia congressman has turned out to be the mystery man who helped Zee’s daughter to travel to the US in 2003.
It was a life & death type situation so my mom had to get me out but she couldn’t come with me so she had to find someone ASAP in the airport to bring me back to America

Maya Huges narrated her story of the mystery man that came to her rescue 15 years back on Twitter.
Have a look at the Twitter thread of her story that went viral:
She pointed her in the direction of the “whet man na corner” (white man in the corner for the afros” and he told my mom he was in no mental state to travel with a minor because he had just lost his grandmother . My mom didn’t know this man at all whatsoever

My mom has been trying to find this man for 15 years , we never got his name or anything . So like a week ago my mom found him through a family member who actually worked with him and she said he matched the description and everything

The inspiring story of Maya Huges went viral in no time, ultimately reaching the mystery man. Tom Perriello retweeted the entire thread with a message for Huges.
One of the craziest experiences of my entire life is now a Twitter thread – and I could not be happier to know you are shining bright, @_themayan_ ! https://t.co/Sk2kWv2RhH

Her mom is a superhero, indeed!
OMG! Your mum is one of the bravest women I ever heard about! And Tom? Who offers such help to a complete stranger? Awesome people live on!

2. Tom Perriello deserves all the praise!
@tomperriello is a great man. Missing ones loving grand parents funeral is very traumatic n could give nightmares. 20 years bk I missed my Grandfather's Funeral because of farmers strike stopped Buses in India. At least 10 years I used to get dreams of my Grandfather being alive

3. While the story offended few Africans, here’s why!
Nice story. Glad made it out alive and met up with the man. Africa is a large continent with 54 countries if I'm not wrong. Please can you say the name of the country exactly rather than just saying Africa. It's disrespectful ☹

4. Even we would love to hear more such stories.

And hence, Salman Khan gets the inspiration to produce the sequel of Bajrangi Bhaijaan where probably a 20-year-old Munni will be heading out to look for Bajrangi!
Yeah, Bhai, you can thank us later!
