A Starving Nigerian Boy Is Given Water And Food After 8 Months And The Images Are Moving

Thousands of children in Nigeria are abandoned by their own parents after being accused of being witches. They are tortured and left alone to die out of starvation.

Anja Ringgren Loven is a Danish aid worker who rescues these abandoned children. She recently rescued an abandoned two-year-old Nigerian boy, who had been wandering in starvation for eight months. The boy was discovered sick with worms and malnutrition. He has been named Hope, as he is on his way to recovery.

Hope was discovered on 31st January, and he has been receiving proper medical aid since then. Here is his journey on his road to recovery.

1. He lived off scraps of food thrown at him and was found malnourished on the streets

 

2. He was wrapped in a blanket

 

3. Immediate medical aid was given

 

4. He was taken to the nearest hospital

 

5. And was given a proper bath

 

6. It removed the worms from his belly

 

7. Daily blood transfusions were given to incorporate more red blood cells into his body

 

8. He was given a lot of rest

 

9. And he started recovering slowly

 

10. Hope has grown stronger since then

 

11. And we hope he recovers fully, very soon
