Video Of Ganguly & Dravid Reminiscing Their Cricketing Days Is Bound To Make You Emotional

Dada and ‘The Wall’. I know, you have already guessed the two gentlemen we are going to talk about. Yes, Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid are two such names in Indian cricket, whose contributions will forever be unparalleled. Two players who have always kept the team ahead of themselves, two players who would happily walk on broken glass for the nation.

With Ganguly carrying the aggression of a tiger and Dravid being an ambassador of extraordinary patience, the duo had contrasting characters on the field. However, what’s similar is that the two went on to become absolute legends in world cricket and weave a plethora of memories together.

And now, years after hanging up their boots, they came together to relive the good times spent alongside each other.

To start with, Dravid took us back to the team’s tour of England in 1989-90. Laughing like a kid, the Bangalore born batsman mentioned that Ganguly had an uncle’s house in the country, where he would go to munch on Indian food.

As far as Ganguly is concerned, he knew that his friend is a bundle of class. He was a man on whom they could rely on with their eyes closed.

When Rahul Dravid came into the Indian team, Sourav Ganguly was already a popular name among the boys. However, it did not take long for Dravid to make his presence felt. In the Ranji Trophy 1991, he scored a century in his debut for Karnataka and announced himself in outstanding fashion.

Call it fate or a coincidence, both of them made their Test debuts against England in 1996. While Ganguly played a brilliant knock of 131 runs, Dravid fell five runs short of a ton. As a matter of fact, when Ganguly brought up his century with a trademark cover drive of his, it was Dravid who stood watching from the non-striker’s end.

That was just the beginning of the greater times that followed. In team India’s clash in the 1999 World Cup against Sri Lanka, the pair went on to put up a colossal partnership of 318 runs for the second wicket, which was the highest at that time.

Speaking about their bonding now, Dravid had a good laugh.

Ganguly, however, ends it with a few flattering words for his good bud.
