Sonu Nigam Declares He Doesn’t Want His Son To Be A Singer In India: “I’ve Got Him Out”

Indian singer and composer, Sonu Nigam needs no introduction. The acclaimed artist has not only dominated the Hindi film industry but has also proved his mettle by singing in several other languages.

And like his father who began singing at the age of four, Nevaan Nigam is also a born singer who sang his first song ‘Why This Kolaveri Di’ with actor Dhanush at the age of 5.

However, his daddy isn’t keen on making him a singer, at least not in India. In an interview with Times Now, when Sonu was asked if his son Nevaan aspires to become a singer, he divulged:

“Frankly, I don’t want him to be a singer, at least not in this country. Anyway, he does not live in India anymore, he lives in Dubai. I have already got him out of India. He is a born singer but he has another interest in life.”

He further added that his son is an excellent gamer.

“As of now, he is one of the topmost gamers of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). He is number 2 in Fortnite. There is a game called Fortnite and he is the top gamers in the Emirates.”

“He is a brilliant child with a lot of qualities and talent. And I don’t want to tell him what to do. Let’s see what he wants to do himself,” he added. Sonu has earlier spoken about the ‘Music Mafias’ in Bollywood that are making it difficult for the younger kids who have just arrived in the industry.

Singing or not, we hope Nevaan chooses the career path he wishes to and makes his parents proud.
