Sonam Kapoor On Airport Screenings: There Wasn’t Any In London, Delhi Officials More Responsible

With the exception of Antarctica, COVID-19 has infected thousands of people living in different continents of the world. With the vaccines to fight against this infection still in the trial stages, the only surefire way to contain the #Coronapocalypse is to #QuarantineAndChill. Which is why countries are imposing varying degrees of lockdowns and urging citizens to stay at home.

Earlier, Shweta Pandit detailed the situation in Italy where people are being fined for venturing outside without a valid reason and jailed if they are ill and not in isolation. Now, Sonam Kapoor has drawn a comparison between precautionary measures taken at London’s Heathrow Airport and Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport.

According to The Times of India, the actress and her husband Anand Ahuja flew back to India yesterday and have since gone into self-isolation. Sonam took to her Instagram stories saying that there was no coronavirus screening while leaving the UK.

“When we were leaving London, there was no screening; nothing. Anand and I were massively shocked upon discovering that.”

News18 quoted her adding, “However, when we reached India, we were asked to fill a form in which we had to tell the authorities how much we flew in the last 25 days. Then our temperatures were taken and we were all fine.”

“I just want to say that it’s incredible the way the authorities are handling the situation. It’s very commendable and laudable. We went to immigration and they again re-checked where we’d been on our passports, which was extremely responsible. I just want everybody to know that everybody is doing the best that they can do. The government is doing the best that it can do. And, we all are in this together.”

The best way to combat this pandemic is to practice social distancing and follow the precautions issued by the Ministry of Health. Stay safe, everyone.
