Add to that her steadily rising career, which has managed to clinch her a National Award for Neerja, and you’ve got one modern-day royal! And what do you know, this princess has already found her Prince Charming too, in entrepreneur, Anand Ahuja!
Their PDA has been super adorable on social media; they even have their own hashtag! And now, it looks like we might soon get to see their fairytale wedding too!
YES! If reports are to be believed, it just might be a May wedding for Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja, surrounded by a breathtaking view of the Alps in Geneva, Switzerland!
Speculations have been rife like wildfire since the Virushka wedding, of who the next couple to pull such a stunt would be. Sonam and Anand were the top pick, and news was floating around that they might get hitched in June, after the release of Sonam’s Veere Di Wedding.
However, according to a report by Mumbai Mirror, a source has revealed to them that the 32-year-old actress’ nuptials with her fashion entrepreneur boyfriend are slated for a two-day ceremony on May 11 and 12 in Geneva.
According to this source, who is part of the wedding planning team, flight bookings for the family and guests are in full swing and happy Papa Anil Kapoor is personally calling guests to invite them.
“There will be sangeet and mehendi ceremonies, followed by a traditional Hindu wedding. The nuptials will be preceded by an engagement ceremony attended by the family’s inner circle, but the venue for that is presently not known.”
If you’re wondering why Geneva was the chosen location, then blame it on Sonam’s recent trips to the city.
The couple took a good three months to decide where they would like to celebrate the most special day of their lives.
While Jaipur and Udaipur were early contenders for the venue, it was Sonam’s trip to Geneva in January that helped her realise, this was it. The actress is an ambassador for a leading Swiss watch brand, and has now taken several trips to the city for the related work.
For her last trip, she was accompanied by sister Rhea, and the duo checked out several wedding venues before finalising one.
Now now now, I know what you’d wanna know next! “It’s fashionista Sonam Kapoor’s wedding! I wonder what designer will she be wearing?”
Ah well, you can only imagine what this news would’ve done to the fashion industry, with everyone vying to dress the fashion forward actress.
But sources from the industry claim that this task too has been placed in the more than worthy and able hands of designer duo Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla, a favourite of the actress and the Kapoor clan.
Also on her wedding trousseau duty are Sonam’s British designer friends Tamara Ralph and Michael Russo of the international brand Ralph & Russo!
Whoa! This already looks like THE spectacle of the year! Let’s hope more details are out soon and someone from the Kapoor clan acknowledges this to be true!
Sonam is currently on a spa retreat in Austria, after a vacation with Anand Ahuja in London. Maybe she will return and confirm the news?
