Several countries around the world are under a lockdown due to coronavirus. So, with thousands of citizens quarantined at home, the internet is filled with creative ideas to battle social distancing. From singing together with neighbors from balconies to playing tennis across apartment windows, people surely are using their free time productively.
Like, these group of neighbors from the UK who are keeping their spirits up by hosting dance sessions on their streets daily, reports Mail Online. The get-togethers, which begin at 11 am each morning, give residents something to look forward amid the gloomy lockdown.
Have a look at the video shared by one of the residents, Elsa Williams:
Socially distant dancing happens every day on our road at 11am during #lockdown. This was day seven.#Covid19 #StayHomeSaveLives pic.twitter.com/yBw2Q230CA

In the video, dozens of residents of all ages can be seen partying from their doorsteps while maintaining a safe distance from each other. Elsa mentioned that the dance party was a one-time thing but it made people so happy that they continued with it. She said it makes all of them feel less lonely in these testing times.
Nobody is dancing in time. We know we’re not very good. Ultimately, it changes nothing. But for a few minutes every day, our little corner of the universe feels a bit less alone. That’s something. pic.twitter.com/K5bqLA2oqw

Their socially distant dancing sessions are conducted by a local fitness instructor and last only for 10 minutes.
Had some people asking about the video—a local fitness instructor (Janet Woodcock) leads the sessions. Distance dancing only lasts 10 minutes a day so causes minimal disturbance. Mostly our road is kids and elderly residents who are self isolating, so they look forward to it.
