Single Woman Throws Herself Wedding-Themed Party As She Wants A Wedding, But Not A Husband

The only thing that the ‘Big Fat Wedding’ trend has contributed to society is major FOMO. Nowadays, everyone wants a huge wedding with a minimum of 5 days of pre-wedding celebration. Every bride wants a Sabyasachi lehenga and everybody is keen on seeing a wedding video which might as well be used in a Karan Johar movie.

The thing is, everybody wants a wedding, even though they don’t want a marriage! Truth be told, women just want to wear a gorgeous lehenga, keep all the gifts, and eat some good food. We all want a wedding, not necessarily is a husband! And this woman did exactly that.

A 36-year-old woman threw herself a wedding-themed birthday party because she wanted a wedding and not a husband! According to sources, the incident happened in Sussex and was exactly the kind of wedding the woman wanted!

“What’s better than to be surrounded by all my friends and family in a huge polyester gown? And I don’t even have to go home and live with a man for the rest of my life,” she said.

However, her intention behind the entire enterprise is kind of empowering. She, Michelle, had been watching all her friends getting married and settling down. Even she wanted a nice gathering, a beautiful white gown to wear, and a party, but not a husband.

“The message behind this is that I’m independent and strong. I’ve tried to teach my daughter that she doesn’t need a partner if she doesn’t want one,” she said.

Preparations were done exactly wedding-style. Michelle dragged her friends to a charity shop which sells bridal attire and got herself a white gown. She went on to make a Facebook Event titled ‘Michelle’s Wedding’ and invited a bunch of her friends and relatives. She asked the guests to wear white outfits or a nice suit. And everything went exactly how she wanted it!

I really, really hope this becomes a thing. You don’t need no man to have a wedding!
