A married woman wearing sindoor is an important part of Hindu culture. But not wearing sindoor, mangalsutra, or chudas doesn’t make a woman any less ‘married’. However, you will find many people advocating for the “scientific benefits” of wearing sindoor every now and then.
For example, a Twitter user @rohshah07 shared screenshots from a particular Instagram Reel he came across where a woman lists the benefits of wearing sindoor.
In the video, it is claimed that sindoor can cool your body because of the mercury present in it, has a relaxing effect, and can trigger sexual drive. The video was posted on an Instagram page ‘Be Bodywise’ which promotes women’s wellness.

However, people online weren’t impressed and had questions. First, isn’t mercury dangerous for health?
According to World Health Organization, “exposure to mercury – even small amounts – may cause serious health problems, and is a threat to the development of the child in utero and early in life.” It also has toxic effects on the nervous, digestive, and immune systems of the body.
Mercury is a heavy metal and prolonged exposure can cause a variety of illnesses lmao.

Second, I’m pretty sure there are other ways to increase a woman’s sex drive…
Centre of Sexual drive in women is situated in the hair parting?
