In February 2020, singers Sidhu Moose Wala and Mankirt Aulakh were charged for promoting violence and gun culture through the lyrics of their songs. Now, a criminal case has been registered against the former.
According to The Times of India, a video has surfaced online that shows him firing an assault rifle in the presence of cops at Badbar village firing range, Barnala district, Punjab.

According to NDTV, he has been charged under Section 188 of the IPC and Section 51 of the Disaster Management Act. Punjab DGP Dinkar Gupta has subsequently ordered that Sangrur DSP (Headquarters) Daljit Singh Virk be suspended for being a facilitator.

Barnala SSP Sandeep Goel was quoted saying, “A case has been registered against 9 persons [including 5 police officers] and investigations are on.”
