Believe It Or Not, A Marriage In Mathura Was Called Off Because Of Ice Cream Shortage

All this while we thought only kids could fight over a cone of ice-cream. Until…

Shortage of ice-cream at a marriage function in Mathura led to a heated argument between the families of the bride and the groom which resulted in brick-batting and finally the wedding had to be called off.

The incident took place after ‘Jaimaala ceremony’ when the host and few members from the groom side entered into an argument over the shortage of ice cream. Three police personnel were also injured.

Could ice-cream literally be the reason for the wedding to be called off?

Not just was the wedding called off but the members from the bride’s side, including women, started pelting stones on the police and also blocked the road.

An FIR was lodged by both the sides of the family. Following the incident, members from the groom’s side and groom returned without taking his bride.

Surely, the bride and his family must have had some ice cream on the way back. 😉
