Sherlyn Chopra Claims Raj Kundra Sexually Assaulted Her: “I Kept Telling Him To Stop”

In connection to the Raj Kundra pornography case, the Mumbai Crime Branch’s Property Cell had summoned Sherlyn Chopra to record her statement on July 27. Fearing arrest like Kundra in the case, she had applied to the Mumbai Sessions Court for anticipatory bail, which she was granted on Tuesday.

As per a report in News18, she shared a video on her Twitter account claiming that in March 2021, she was the first one to share information with the Mumbai Police Crime Cell about Kundra’s company Armsprime, which ultimately led to his arrest. Check it out:

Reportedly, she had issued an FIR against Kundra in April 2021 accusing him of sexual assault. He was charged under section 376 of Indian Penal Code r/w section 384, 415, 420, 504 and 506, 354 (a) (b) (d), 509, of Indian Penal Code, 67, 67 (A), of Information Technology Act 2008, sec 3 & 4 of Indecent Representation of Women Act 1986, TOI reports.

In her complaint, she alleged that Kundra had called her business manager in 2019 with the idea of “The Sherlyn Chopra App” saying that the content she would upload on social media was free, but she could monetize it through a customized app. Post their meeting on March 27, 2019, Kundra showed up “unannounced” at her place, owing to a heated argument over a text.

She further alleged that he started “kissing” her even though she “resisted”. She claimed that she did not want to get involved with a married man, or mix business with pleasure.

She supposedly stated, “I asked Raj about his relationship with his wife, Shilpa Shetty. He said that it was complicated and that he was stressed most of the time at home. I kept telling him to stop as I was scared.” The complaint finally stated that she managed to push him and rush into the washroom.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, Kundra’s bail plea was rejected by a Mumbai court, and he was also denied any urgent temporary relief for his alleged creation and publication of pornographic films through apps. The public prosecutor opposed his bail plea stating that being an influential person, he can intimidate witnesses after being released from jail, which would derail the probe.
