Remember how Bollywood actor Rahul Bose paid Rs. 442 for two bananas at a plush five-star hotel in Chandigarh this year and later a Mumbai hotel billed a man Rs. 1700 for 2 boiled eggs? Well, the latest person to join the ‘Being overcharged by 5 stars hotels’ gang is music composer Shekhar Ravjiani.
Posting the bill on Twitter, Mr. Rajviani narrated that he was “exorbitantly” charged Rs. 1672 for just three egg whites at Hyatt Regency in Ahmedabad on Thursday, reported NDTV.
Rs. 1672 for 3 egg whites???
That was an Eggxorbitant meal 🤯 pic.twitter.com/YJwHlBVoiR— Shekhar Ravjianii (@ShekharRavjiani) November 14, 2019
Now, we would rather buy 26 dozen eggs (i.e 26×12= 312 eggs at the rate of Rs.5 per egg) at Rs. 1,560 and save a few spare rupees than have these ‘golden eggs’ from a 5 star hotel. And Twitter seems to agree, from questioning whether they are dinosaur eggs to suggesting to use the money for paying rent, Twitterati is on fire. Have a look at the quirky responses:
This is insane! For this amount, a JNU student can pay hostel room rent for 15 years! https://t.co/cvpGRW6Zpg

The service charge of 5% is maybe for the chicken which laid the eggs

You went to Hyatt.
You saw the menu and knew the amount.
You ordered the eggs.
You ate the eggs.
You paid the bill.
You must have given a tip too.

Still better than costliest pop corn and coke at multiplex while we enjoy bollywood movies. Anything that film fraternity is thinking about it ,pls let us know? Else just like i have reduced watching movies in theatres, you too can reduce your trips to five star hotels.
