Shatrughan Sinha Open’s Up About Aryan Khan’s Arrest & Why Celebs Don’t Speak Up

After Aryan Khan’s arrest, Shahrukh Khan and his family have received tremendous support from his fans and his colleagues from the film industry. But he has also been on the receiving end of flak, with one major brand pausing advertisements featuring him.

In a recent interview, Shatrughan Sinha opened up about the entire incident of Aryan’s arrest. According to the Indian Express, he is also the first veteran actor to speak on this topic.

The actor expressed how Aryan Khan is being targeted solely because he is Shahrukh Khan’s son. He went on to compare the case with Deepika Padukone, who was last year questioned by the NCB for allegedly using drugs.

“Shah Rukh is definitely the reason why the boy is being targeted. There are other names like Munmun Dhamecha and Arbaaz Merchant, but nobody is talking about them. The last time such a thing happened, the focus was on Deepika Padukone, although there were other names involved, and known names too, but the focus was on her only.”

Shatrughan Sinha further alleged that people want to “settle scores” with Shahrukh Khan.

“This time they have Aryan Khan to play with because he is Shah Rukh Khan’s son and they’ve got a chance to settle scores with the actor. We also know they haven’t found any drug on him, nor have they got any incriminating material. Even if they had found any drug, the punishment is at the most one year but that does not arise in this case.”

Talking about why people from the industry generally don’t open up or show support for other actors in such cases, he said that they are “scared”, reports Hindustan Times.

“They want the person to fight his own battle. The industry is a bunch of scared folks. There have been protests outside their houses. So, they say let’s not do it. When you talk about casting couch or drugs, you judge any industry by the majority.”
