‘Sex And The City’ Makes A Comeback, But Fans Say ‘It Won’t Be The Same Without Samantha’

Last year we heard that the hit show Gossip Girl was going to make a comeback with an all-new cast and a 10-episode reboot. It was also confirmed that the original cast of FRIENDS was coming together once again for an unscripted reunion special episode.

Now HBO Max has confirmed that ‘Sex And The City’ which aired from 1998 to 2004, is coming back with a 10-episode series titled ‘And Just Like That…’ According to Hollywood Reporter, the show will focus on the friendship of the three original cast members Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie), Kristin Davis (Charlotte), and Cynthia Nixon (Miranda) as Kim Cattrall (Samantha) is not part of the new show.

The official press release says, “The new Max Original series is based on the book, Sex and the City, by Candice Bushnell and the original TV series created by Darren Star. The series will follow Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte as they navigate the journey from the complicated reality of life and friendship in their 30s to the even more complicated reality of life and friendship in their 50s.”

Fans on Twitter expressed excitement about seeing the teaser and even shared what they’d like to see on the new show.

However, some felt it wouldn’t be the same without Samantha Jones and wondered if the writers would have refreshing stories to tell.
