Tennis Player Passed Racist Comment On Serena’s Unborn Child And She Handled It Like A Boss

Serena Williams has been incredibly polite towards journalists who ask her rude questions. She is patient even with their unreasonable questions and tries to answer all of them without losing her temper. She has maintained her sportsmanship outside court too. This attitude is why she’s world number 1 even at her age. That’s why she won a Grand Slam tournament while she was pregnant.

But sometimes, some people just cross a line that cannot be crossed. But even then, Serena took the civilised route to speak out.

During a press conference with the Romanian Fed Cup team, a retired player named Ilie Nastase passed a very racist comment about Serena’s unborn child. The very fact that it was a comment on the colour of a child that hasn’t been born yet shows the sickness behind it.

“Let’s see what colour it (the baby) has. Chocolate with milk?”

The Romanian tennis player was probably referring to Serena’s husband, who is a caucasian.

Serena, a true lady did not stoop to the Romanian’s level to hit back. She took to Instagram to explain to her followers as to why this remark was so fundamentally wrong.

The International Tennis Federation is investigating Ilie Nastase for this incident.

And as a proof that hard work and dedication pay off, Serena Williams regained her position as the number 1 in WTA rankings!

Race and colour never ever matter. But it’s hard for racists Ilie Nastase to get that. Let’s hope he gets a life ban for his absolutely disgusting comment.
