Selena Gomez is an American pop-star whose fandom knows no bound. Be it her girl-next-door charms or her Instafmous life which makes her the most followed celebrity on Instagram (with over 127 million followers), Selena is sensational in every way.
While she uses her social media to interact with her fans and supporters, she recently took to Instagram to share about a rather life-changing incident. (No, it isn’t about the Weekend).
Selena Gomez recently revealed that she has undergone a kidney transplant as a part of her treatment for Lupus and it is moving. She even thanked her BFF, Francia who donated her the kidney and saved her life. She wrote,
“I’m very aware some of my fans had noticed I was laying low for part of the summer and questioning why I wasn’t promoting my new music, which I was extremely proud of. So I found out I needed to get a kidney transplant due to my Lupus and was recovering.
Raisa is a television actress from Los Angeles is best known for roles in the series, ‘The Secret Life of the American Teenager’ and the cheerleader comedy film, ‘Bring It On: All or Nothing.’
Not just that. Even Francia opened up about the entire process and how overwhelmingly grateful she feels that could help her friend out.
“I am beyond grateful that God would trust me with something that not only saved a life, but changed mine in the process.
Love you sis, so glad we’re on this journey together. ❤️”
It was 2015 when Selena had revealed her Lupus diagnosis. In fact, last year she even took some time off as she struggled with the disease, anxiety and depression.
Reportedly, both of them have been best friends for about eight years. As stars of shows on Disney and ABC Family, they met while visiting a children’s hospital.
Aren’t they just adorable? We wish Selena a speedy recovery and lots of love. <3
