“No one has ever become poor by giving.”- Anne Frank

This is an extraordinary story of an even more extraordinary person. An ATM security guard from Majra in Dehradun, Brijendra has been educating slum children since the past 16 years.

In this story, shared by Narendra Singh Negi, a popular Folk singer from Uttrakhand, every single day as soon as the day comes to an end, children from the street, children of beggars and laborers gather around their humble teacher. Brijendra teaches them under the lights of the very ATM he works at.

Brijendra who retired from the Army has not only been enlightening the young minds of 24 children who study under him but also instills in them, the trait of discipline.

“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”- Winston Churchill

Brijendra truly is a selfless soul.
