Section 375 of the IPC lays down the country’s laws on the crime of rape. It provides a definition for the crime as well as the concepts of consent, will and permission.
Directed by Ajay Bahl, a movie by the same name released today and it revolves around this very topic. The story is about a costume assistant Anjali Dangle (Meera Chopra) who accuses celebrated movie director Rohan Khurana (Rahul Bhat) of rape. Her lawyer Hiral Mehta (Richa Chadha) defends her during a High Court trial against lawyer Tarun Saluja (Akshaye Khanna).
After seeing the movie, people are applauding the acting skills of both lead actors and their hard-hitting dialogue delivery. The first half of the movie is being appreciated for being balanced, crisp and neutral, showcasing both sides of the case in a mature manner.
Must watch.

Justice is an abstract,
Law is a fact.
We don't do business of Justice,
We do business of law.#Section375 -a must watch movie@RichaChadha— Pradum kumar (@young_tuurk) September 13, 2019

#Section375 is a must watch. Performances by @AkshayeOfficial & the entire cast; script; Production; Direction; Camera- all 7⭐️. Narrative superbly questions if justice can be done under new secrion375 where any rape accused is presumed guilty until proven innovent! pic.twitter.com/QS9iiyBgkr

However, some feel that the debate between law and justice portrayed through the case is concerning. People feel that the events of the second half may hurt the #MeToo movement and its victims.
Here is justice of law, not justice of truth…#Section375 #JusticeForAll

so i went and saw #section375 and damn that film was misogynistic. i enjoyed it artistically, but it was so patriarchal in its stance, it was repulsive.
sorry no.

Section 375 is a legal drama about a director convicted of sexually assaulting his colleague.#Section375 movie keeps you hooked through its form by #AkshayeKhanna’s efficient performance that leans heavily towards his point of view. pic.twitter.com/YoVnZTcHwV

#Section375 is very well performed by I'm not sure I can say I align with its intent. In the name of being "nuanced" and presenting both sides of the spectrum, the film ends being a very stereotypical and myopic view on sexual harassment and rape.

The more I think about it, the more angry I feel that #Section375 was even made. Bollywood has a disproportionate amount of influence in India so a film that mocks #MeTooIndia by focusing on the small number of false cases is out of place. @IndiaMeToo https://t.co/G3ywCnHlnW

#Section375 is beautifully staged court room drama handling issue which is seldom discussed..#AkshayeKhanna is the lifeline with power hitting performance & @RichaChadha is super strong against him..it can be more tight and crisp but still watchable

So, will you watch the gritty courtroom drama ‘Section 375’ this weekend? Or would you prefer seeing Ayushmann Khurrana in ‘Dream Girl’ instead?
