In the past, if you would Google ‘Asia’s richest woman’, the name of China’s Yang Huiyan would pop up on the search engine. But not anymore!
Owing to China’s escalating crisis, Huiyan’s fortune has more than halved this year to $11 billion which now makes India’s Savitri Jindal Asia’s new richest woman with an $11.5 billion fortune, as per Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
Savitri Devi Jindal (72) businesswoman, and politician, married Om Prakash Jindal (the founder of steel and power conglomerate Jindal Group) in the 1970s. She is also the former Minister of Urban Local Bodies for Haryana.
When OP Jindal died in a tragic helicopter crash in 2005, she took over the conglomerate as its chairperson. She is also the 10th-richest person in the country of about 1.4 billion, reported NDTV.
