Once Acted In Films Like ‘Black Friday’ & ‘Gulaal’, Actor Savi Sidhu Now Works As A Security Guard

Your life might be running on the smoothest of tracks at the moment, but still, nobody can guarantee what the future has in store for you. Take, for example, actor Savi Sidhu, whose fate took the most dramatic and cruel turn in a matter of years.

Born and brought up in Lucknow, Sidhu was handed his golden ticket to Bollywood by Anurag Kashyap, when the director offered him a role in his unreleased movie, Paanch. Sidhu went on to act in several films in the glamorous industry since then with his most prominent ones being Black Friday and Gulaal.

Some of his other movies include the likes of Patiala House and Bewakoofiyan.

But just when things seemed to be falling in place, life came up with another plan for him. He went through a drastic deterioration of health which forced him to quit acting. To add to his problems, the real shock of his life came when he lost his wife, followed by his father and mother. Speaking to Film Companion in an interview, he said,

“Meri financial aur health problems badh gai toh kaam khatam ho gaya. Sabse tough phase tha, when I lost my wife. Agle saal I lost my father, then mother. Dheere dheere akela hota ja raha tha, aur akela hote hote I was all alone.”

Though the former actor misses his days in Bollywood, today his condition does not even allow him to watch a movie! He now works as a security in a building in Malad. However, the determined man is focused on gaining stability financially by doing the blue-collar job, with the hope of returning to the big screen someday.

“Issi umeed ke saath kaam kar raha hun ki thoda bank balance banega, producers-directors ko milunga. And I am hopeful ki mujhe role denge. Mujhe umeed hai ki unko milunga toh they will not say no.”

We hope he overcomes his difficulties very soon and life puts him back on the driving seat once again.
