Saurabh Naresh Netravalkar, originally from India, is a cricketer and a software engineer working for Oracle. As a left-arm medium-fast bowler, he plays for the United States cricket team. Recently, he made headlines by defeating Pakistan in a thrilling match during the T20 World Cup 2024. However, Saurabh shuffles between two roles – that of a cricketer and a software engineer. He carries his laptop with his kitbag. Oracle Corp has been very supportive, allowing him to work and play from any location. This flexibility helps him manage his dual career successfully.

Saurabh’s sister revealed to News18 that when he is not playing cricket, he gives 100 per cent to his job. Even after playing a match when he is in his hotel, he is working on his laptop.

“He’s been very fortunate to have people who have always supported him throughout his career. He knows that when he’s not playing cricket, he has to give 100 per cent to the job. So right now, when he’s working, he carries his laptop everywhere. And he has the freedom to work from anywhere. Even when he comes to India, he brings his laptop. He’s working. So after the match in the hotel, he’s doing his work. He is pretty dedicated like that,” she said.

It is fascinating to see how Saurabh Netravalkar manages to excel in both cricket and his career as a software engineer. Balancing the intense demands of professional sports with the responsibilities of a tech job is no small feat!
