From having lions and cheetahs as pets to driving swanky cars, from buying football clubs to owning extravagant mansions, Saudi Arabians definitely know how to live life king size. However, if there was something missing in their luxurious lifestyles, it was the presence of a night club in the country to switch on their party mode.
But not anymore. According to Lokmat News, Saudi Arabia is all set to welcome its first nightclub in the coastal city of Jeddah. Going by the name of the ‘halal Nightclub’, the venue is reportedly a branch of the White brand, which also has clubs in Dubai and Beirut.
According to reports, the drinks served at the club will be non-alcoholic and will abide by the ‘halal’ standards of the Islamic dietary law. Nevertheless, the opening night is supposed to see an electrifying performance from US singer Ne-Yo, which is already being promoted by the White Saudi Arabia Facebook page.
While speaking to Arabian Business, the CEO of the venue mentioned that the club will be lavish cafe and lounge which will attract international tourists and mixed gatherings.
“The Saudi market will be great, because the local community goes out a lot. You have people in the country who go out a lot. We’re finalising the Iris café for Jeddah. It will be a café and lounge with music and breakfast, lunch and dinner. It’s also a rooftop, outdoor and indoor, and a very interesting concept for the Jeddah market, which is growing, and they have great concepts opening there too.”
Having said that, the nightclub will face a few obstacles before coming to life. On Thursday, Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority (GEA) denied it had given the green light for the opening of a nightclub. Irrespective of what finally happens, the idea has garnered a lot of attention on Twitter with people left divided.

It is to be noted that Saudi Arabia Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman is doing his best to bring the country at par with the modern lifestyle and do away with age-old traditions. Salman had previously lifted the driving ban on the women of Saudi Arabia and we feel that the idea of a night club is also a masterstroke from the 33-year-old leader.
