This Elderly Sardarji Serving Water In Delhi’s Scorching Heat Is An Inspiration To Us All

The Sikh community has always been at the forefront of kindness and generosity. Whether it is helping the bereaved families of New Zealand’s Christchurch shootings or setting up langars in Odisha so that Cyclone Fani victims get access to fresh food and clean water, they have always come forward and served those in need. Even former US President Barack Obama appreciated a Sikh scientist’s efforts towards inclusivity during Pride Month recently.

In another act of humanity, an unidentified good Samaritan from New Delhi was seen braving the scorching heat to serve glasses of water by the road to anyone and everyone who was thirsty.

Twitter user @ZeHarpreet shared the video of the elderly gentleman which swiftly went viral. In the video, he can be seen with a parked scooter near a bus stand with coolers of water and glasses. He is offering water to bus passengers as well as refilling water bottles of passersby on the road. The internet is now hailing him as “Sardarji”.

People are applauding the gentleman for his “sewa” and calling him a true superhero.

We don’t know the name of this superhero but we salute his thoughtfulness and magnanimity. He truly is a role model we can look up to and an inspiration for the younger generation.
