Sarabjot Singh Calls His Mom To Say He Won Bronze At Olympics, She Says ‘Busy, Call Later’

Desi parents have a unique way of expressing their love. Their reactions to their kids’ achievements can be quite amusing and sometimes seem like they don’t care. But beneath that tough exterior lies a heart full of love.

In a classic example, Sarabjot Singh, a 22-year-old shooter from Ambala, Haryana, made history with Manu Bhaker by winning India’s second medal at the Paris Olympic Games. They became the first Indian shooters to win an Olympic medal in a team event.

However, when Sarabjot Singh called his mother to share the exciting news, she replied with, “I’m busy, talk to me later,” reported NDTV.

Sarabjot shared this moment with a chuckle, revealing that despite the historic win, he isn’t completely satisfied with his performance and is already aiming for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

Doesn’t this exchange highlight the typical desi-parent response? While other parents might shower their kids with praise and celebrate their wins, desi parents often have a more practical, no-nonsense approach. It might seem like they’re not impressed, but in reality, they are bursting with pride in their own unique way!

So here’s a big congratulations to Sarabjot Singh for his incredible achievement!
