Salman Couldn’t Get Gymnast Dipa Karmakar’s Name Right. Wasn’t He The Ambassador For Olympics?

What’s in the name you say?

Unless you’re Salman Khan, not a lot.

But other people who’ve been working really hard to achieve something in their lives and make a name for themselves deserve it.

At the trailer launch of Freaky Ali, Salman Khan slipped up again making the mistake of getting the name of Dipa Karmakar, the female gymnast of Indian contingency who created history by qualifying for the Vault finals, wrong. TWICE.

Despite being the goddwill ambassador for the Olympic contingent of India to Rio, he called her Deepika at first, then Deepti, never really making it to Dipa. Moreover, he doesn’t seem to have any clarity on how the games function and yet doubted her abilities by saying,

“She was going to win gold, but she came eight no?”

Okay. Let’s assume this one could out of Bhai’s capacity, but when introducing the lead of the movie which he has produced, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, he called him Nawazuddin ‘Shah’ for some reason.

It seems Salman’s days are not going well with the press.

Some homework would’ve helped? 😛
