Sakshi Malik became the first Indian female to win Bronze in the Women’s Wrestling competition at the Rio Olympics, 2016. So, naturally, her return to India was going to be a much-celebrated affair.
Sakshi Malik touched down at Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi, at 4 in the morning earlier today, and was greeted amidst a lot of fanfare.

Sakshi has received a cash reward of ₹ 2.5 crore at a felicitation event held at Rohtak district in her hometown in Haryana. Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar was present at the event to honour Sakshi.

Sakshi will be travelling in a decked up vehicle throughout her hometown to meet her various family members, before arriving at her home.
Sakshi has made the entire country proud, and she has been brought on to represent the Beti Bachao programme. And deservedly so!
