Saif Ali Khan Gets Candid About Bollywood’s Film Mafia & Why It Won’t Last Long

It is no secret that the Indian film industry is dominated by a few big players. Bollywood is also infamous for being partial to star kids (read nepotism). A while back, IIFA declared Ananya Panday, Suhana Khan and Shanaya Kapoor as the “next generation of divas” despite the fact that only one of them has had a film release. Having said that, the landscape is now slowly but steadily changing.

Actor Saif Ali Khan thinks so too. He says that the industry is going through a resurgence and will soon resemble Hollywood.

DNA India quoted him saying,

“To me, it’s the greatest profession in the world. Bollywood is at its creative best right now. It’s in the midst of some kind of renaissance. I don’t think there’s been a better time. And it’s only going to only grow from here.”

He further added,

“Everyone’s kids want to join [Bollywood] now, and that means the industry is going to have people with different types of looks, playing different roles. The fixed stereotypes we had in our mind are constantly being broken.”

“The film industry is really going to benefit, and there’s a lot of room for everyone. I’m thrilled it’ll be out of control of the film mafia, where people try and control things. It’s just going to be too big, and become like Hollywood.”

Better storylines, intriguing characters and new pairings, there certainly are exciting things to look forward to in future, don’t you think? Until then, we’ll be treated to Saif’s power-packed performance in the second season of Sacred Games airing on August 15.
