Saif Ali Khan Called Out For Switching To British Accent While Talking To The Media At Red Sea Film Fest

From his acting debut in ‘Parampara’ (1993), to ‘Vikram Vedha‘, in his career spanning 3 decades, Saif Ali Khan has given us some commendable movies making him an eminent part of the Hindi film industry.

Recently, the ‘Omkara’ actor was spotted attending the Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia along with his wife, actress Kareena Kapoor Khan.

During the event, the couple was seen interacting with the media and giving their two cents on ‘Women In Cinema‘. It is during this interaction that Saif acknowledged the hard work and the caliber of the female actors in films right from Audrey Hepburn to his wife and mother Sharmila Tagore. He said:

“Cinema is empty without women. When you think of cinema you think of so many important ladies who have acted from Monika Dietrich to Audrey Hepburn and to my beautiful wife. My mother did her first movie with Satyajit Ray when she was 16. So, I think the feminine sensitivity or the aggression or that whole aspect of nature is what women in cinema mean to me.”

Even though his comment was impressive, people were taken aback when Saif suddenly switched to a British accent.

No Saif we don’t know. Why is he British now from BollyBlindsNGossip

Upon watching the video, people online thought the accent switch was unnecessary and it made the couple look awkward. Some even called it ‘cringe’.

I have seen a lot of people, online and offline, picking up a weird foreign accent when they come back from an international trip. I mean, dude, you were just there for 2 weeks, how come you became an angrez so quickly?

Talking about Saif, do you think he had a tongue-in-cheek moment?
