Saif Ali Khan Finally Responds To Trolls Who Said He Bought The Padma Shri In The Sassiest Way!

Saif Ali Khan is known for maintaining his royalty both in media and public. He keeps controversies at an arm’s length and mostly isn’t vocal about his personal life on camera. But he also doesn’t shy away from giving the trolls a taste of their own medicine when things go extreme.

Saif, recently, graced the couch of Arbaaz Khan’s popular talk show ‘Pinch’ where Bollywood celebrities spill the beans on their social media life. In one of the most entertaining segments on the show, Arbaaz, reads out the comments of fans and trolls and celebrities react to it.

Saif Ali Khan came up with some really hilarious and humble reactions to the trolls which have gone viral. Saif addressed one of the comments which said that he is a two bit thug and has bought the titular Padma Shri Award. “This two-bit thug who bought a Padma Shri, named his son Taimur and beat up some people in a restaurant. How the hell did he get a role in ‘Sacred Games‘? He can hardly act,” read the comment.

Saif came up with a fitting reply to the troll and said, “Two-bit thug, I’m not… Bought a Padma Shri is also not possible. It is beyond me to bribe the Indian government. You will have to ask more senior people. But I thought I don’t want to accept it. There are so many senior actors in the industry who deserved it even more than me, and had not gotten one…and it was very embarrassing. And of course, there are some people who have it, I feel deserve it less than me also.”

Saif recalled how a conversation with his dad and former Indian cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi changed his mind on accepting the honor. “I wanted to give it back. I didn’t want to accept it. My father said to me, ‘I don’t think you are in a position to refuse the Indian government.’ So I said ‘okay’ and I very happily took it,” Saif said.

“I look at it in a way that I hope in time…cause I’m not done yet and I’m enjoying acting, I’m doing fairly well, I’m happy with what’s happening… I hope in time, when I look back and people look at it, they will say, ‘Okay, I think he deserves honour for the work he has done,” he added.

Saif went to showcase the humor and wit he is known for in the industry, as he addressed other trolls. One of the trolls said, “being a nawab and still clinging on to rotten ‘hukumat'”. To which Saif quipped, “I have never been interested in being a nawab. I prefer eating kebabs.”

Saif was also trolled for turning up at Sonam Kapoor’s wedding in a plain white kurta pajama, to which he said, “It was her wedding, not mine.”

On the work front, Saif is currently prepping up to return with the second season of critically acclaimed web series Sacred Games. He will also be seen in films like Jawani Janeman and Taanaji in the coming years.
