Sachin Tendulkar Gifts Cricket Kit To Disabled Cricket Fan, Twitter Applauds His Gesture

There is a reason why former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar is crowned with the title, ‘The God of Cricket’ by his fans. It’s not just his straight drives at the pitch, but his humble and down to earth attitude is another reason why people still cannot get over the sportsman even after years of his retirement. Here’s another reason that proves why Sachin has won over the hearts of millions of his fans.

Remember the disabled boy who was seen crawling between the wickets using his hands and knees (with the bat clutched in one hand) to score a run? Well, according to News18, the young enthusiastic lad in the video is Maddaram Kawasi who hails from Bastar district of Chhattisgarh. Maddaram’s video that spread like wildfire on social media caught Tendulkar’s attention.

And the golden-heart that Master Blaster is, he decided to surprise the 12-year-old boy with the present of his life. Tendulkar sent him a cricket kit along with a note encouraging him to continue playing. Polio afflicted Maddaram was in Raipur playing a wheelchair final match when he received his prized possession, reported TOI.

The boy couldn’t control his happiness on receiving the kit from the ‘God of Cricket’ himself. Holding the bat he said, “This is the best day of my life to receive a gift from the legend of cricket – the game so close to my heart.”

“Holding the bat I feel a gush of blood in my body that gives me the power to manifest what I want to become. My disability doesn’t stop me dreaming and I have been playing cricket for the last one year and enjoy the game to the core.”
