Sachin Tendulkar To Reunite With Chennai Man Who Once Helped Him 19 Years Ago

Remember how a few days back we had mentioned that ‘Master Blaster’ Sachin Tendulkar was trying to find a waiter in Chennai? The one who’d helped him improve his game for a Test series during his playing days.

Well, Taj Hotels was able to locate their employee after the former Indian cricketer tweeted and asked his fans for help, reports Times of India. A lot of his fans had tagged Taj hotels and enquired about the whereabouts of the employee.

The hotel found the man quickly and promptly replied to Sachin’s tweet :

The man of the hour, Guruprasad, recalled how he met his idol in 2001 when he was working as a security guard at the Taj hotel. “I saw Sachin when he was about to take the lift. I wanted his autograph, but I did not have paper. I got it in my security beat notebook,” he was quoted saying by Sport Star.

While signing the autograph Sachin readily agreed to speak with the guard. “I told him that his elbow guard was affecting his wrist movement and swinging of the bat,” Guruprasad added. The cricketer was surprised by his knowledge about the sport and used his suggestion immediately.

The 45-year-old die-hard cricket fan says the conversation lasted less than a minute, and he is astonished that Sachin remembered it. “I am not on Twitter, my nephew from France informed me about Sachin’s tweet because I had told him and a couple of my relatives about that moment. I was elated that Sachin remembered me after 19 years. This just proves that he is not only a great cricketer but also a wonderful human being,” he was quoted saying by Indian Express.

Guruprasad simply wants the legend to visit his house so that the neighborhood kids and friends will get a chance to meet the ‘God of Cricket.’ He also wants to serve him a meal at his home.

We’re glad that the internet helped Sachin find Guruprasad even after 19 years.
