Offlate Bollywood has been blurring the lines between reel and real life by showcasing stories of actual people rather than fictional ones. Mission Mangal gave us a peek into ISRO’s Mangalyaan, The Sky Is Pink portrayed the life of Aisha Chaudhary, Super 30 that of mathematician Anand Kumar and now, Tushar Hiranandini’s Saand Ki Ankh tells the tale of Chandro and Prakashi Tomar.
For the uninitiated, these two sisters-in-law hail from Johri village in Baghpat. Despite being from conservative families and housewives in their 60s, they became ace competitive shooters through sheer grit and determination and won many laurels for the country. And these sharpshooters are played by Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar.
The janta’s verdict is now in and people loved the feminist saga of two gutsy shooter dadis who are an inspiration for women all over the country.
I absolutely loved watching #SaandKiAankh. The story of 2 rural women played beautifully by @taapsee & @bhumipednekar, rising from everything ordinary to creating history. Not just women but everyone should watch this one. Go watch it! ❤️

Really really enjoyed #SaandKiAankh. It's a bit long but it's uproariously funny, joyous and will make you cheer for the feisty women in the film. And maybe even tear up a little. What a ride! And such amazing work by @taapsee @bhumipednekar and @ItsViineetKumar pic.twitter.com/dKEtr6D1ku

I hope many people would watch this film and spread awareness on why it's important to give wings to girls/women so that they can fly at will and realise their dreams.

Despite having a mixed feeling about the casting, I still went ahead to watch #SaandKiAankh. This film surprised me. It is the #feminist film we all deserve. @taapsee and @bhumipednekar are just outstanding 👌💯. Guys don’t miss this film ❤️.— Ramitha Vimukthi (@RAMIWEERASEKARE) October 25, 2019

#SaandKiAankhReview: One solid reason why #SaandKiAankh works is because director @tushar1307 brings alive everything you've read in newspapers or watched on TV as an outsider, to the big screen. And that works and how! A number of sequences leave you tongue-tied. Exemplary!

Having said that, many were not happy with the prosthetic makeup applied on actresses in their 30s to give them the appearance of octogenarians. A few movie buffs also felt that the editing could have been better.
#SaandKiAankh Weak Zone
1- Slow 1st half
2- Mediocre direction, many scenes in film remains unpolished
3-Editing, and film running time, needed atleast 30 mins trimming
4- Clash with 2 films will harm its box office potential film should have released on a Normal date
⭐️⭐️⭐️

SaandKiAankhReview: Hiccups – Lengthy run time coupled with #DevendraMurdeshwar’s slog editing tone down the impact considerably. Also the poor prosthetics & patchy make-up end up distracting you.
Nevertheless, #SaandKiAankh deserves to be told & seen as a film. Don't miss it!
