Russian Scientists Revive 48,000-Year-Old ‘Zombie Virus’, Twitter Digests The News With Memes

After going through hell over the past couple of years, courtesy of the coronavirus, no one is ready to deal with another virus, lockdown, and a pandemic.

But recently, people online skipped a beat when scientists in Russia ‘revived’ a 48,500-year-old ‘zombie virus’.

According to News18, the virus was buried under a frozen lake in Russia until it was discovered recently after global warming led to the thawing of the age-old permafrost (ground that continuously remains below 0 °C for two or more years).

The scientists at the French National Centre for Scientific Research had unveiled over a dozen archaic viruses along with the ‘zombie-virus’ that reportedly has the potential to be infectious and can therefore be a “health threat”.

This news left people shocked and scared too. But to cope with this Earth-shattering information, people flooded Twitter with memes and jokes.

This is legit scary. Can we get done with this already? 😒
