Russian Farms Make Cows Wear VR Goggles To Reduce Stress & Anxiety In Winters

Research conducted by the Moscow Agriculture Ministry has shown that cows that are happy and are living in a calm atmosphere produce better quantity and quality of milk compared to those living in gloomy conditions. Like all of us, even they feel blue on a cold winter day!

Which is why farmers in Russia are making their cows wear virtual reality goggles to make it seem like it is summer on a frosty, dark winter day so that they are in a better mood and can produce better quality milk, reports The Telegraph.

According to The Moscow Times, experts noticed “reduced anxiety” and “improved overall emotional mood” in the cows during the VR experiment.

The experiment was conducted in a farm in Krasnogorsk located northwest of Moscow. The goggles were designed specifically according to the shape of a cow’s head. After seeing positive results, the ministry now intends to introduce this practice to the entire domestic dairy production industry.

Previously, other means have been used to calm the cows. For example, in the US, automated brushes are installed in cattle stalls to massage the cows! Also, farms in Moscow’s suburban areas play classical music to make the cows feel relaxed.

Enough with the humans! Even animals deserve to enjoy technology!
