Queen Elizabeth II hosted a gala reception at the Buckingham Palace for the Indian delegates at the UK-India Year of Culture 2017 event. The event marks the close ties between the two nations and dignitaries from all walks of life were seen in attendance.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley helmed the Indian delegation of big names from all walks of life, who were seen hobnobbing with the Royal family. Take a look at the pictures from the royal affair!

1. A peacock was projected in front of the Buckingham Palace, which was designed by a Bangalore – London based Studio Carrom.

 

2. Always graceful, the 90-year-old Queen along with The Duke of Edinburgh greeted the Indian dignitaries.

 

3. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge greeted their guests too. We can see Kapil Dev interacting with The Duchess.

 

4.  Daughter of Pandit Ravi Shankar, Anoushka Shankar was seen interacting with Her Highness along with husband, Joe Wright.

8. From Soya Gujjia to Crème Brûlée, the menu was a mix of Indian-British delicacies. It was made by the Royal chefs who worked alongside the chefs from ‘Veeraswamy’, the UK’s oldest Indian Restaurant.

 

9. Talking about the shared history and culture, actor Ayesha Dharker was also present at the event.
