This Is Why Rosesh Sarabhai Is The Smartest Person Ever

I think all of you will agree when I say that Sarabhai vs Sarabhai is one of the awesomest shows that ever existed. With a blend of crazy characters- troll dad Indravadan, the oh-so-sophisticated Maya, Monisha who cannot stop saying “Aaila!”, Sahil with his poker-face, and ofcourse, let’s not forget the baby(literally) of the family, Rosesh Sarabhai.

He has spent too much of his life being ridiculed and being made fun of. Here’s a compilation of his poems that show that he is smarter than he realizes:

1. When he effortlessly used a figure of speech – Onomatopoeia

“Asman mein uud raha hai kabutar
Aasman mein uud raha hai kabutar
FLUTTER,  FLUTTER, FLUTTER”

 

2. When he defined the working class without insulting them

“Humpty dumpty sat on the ‘gadi’
Gadi pe betha tabhi aa gayi dadi
Dadi ne kaha aaja mere paas
Kyuki gadi pe bethna is just so middle class”

 

3. When he truly understood that life is about ups-and-downs

“Tumhe samjhe toh mujhe bhi samjhana,
Kyu hai mera jeevan itna khokla,
Jaise koi basi aur sada hua khaman dhokla”

 

4. When he found a positive side even in a sad situation

“Yeh hai teen pair waala kutta,
Isko kabhi bhagaana nahi padta,
Susu karte waqt use pair uthaana nahi padta,
Yeh hai teen pair waala kutta”

 

5. When he increased sales by advertising about them

“Ghanan ghanan ghanan ghanan
Badalo se aaye pehla soorya kiran
Datton ke liye danta manjan
Aur pet ke liye kaayam chooran”

 

6. When he used a metaphor to describe Monisha

“In the bathroom of Sarabhai,
Hogi Monisha bhabhi ki pitaai,
Rakhti hain apna ghar woh ganda,
Jaise dal makhani mein paneer pasanda”

 

7. We all identified with him when he described his heart as a car that has broken down

“Khatar khun khatar khun khatar khun
Sun mere dil ki dhun
Tere pyaar ki oiling mil gayi isey
Toh khatar khun ka ho jaayega gun gun”

 

8. When he made us realize that poems are cooler than anniversary greeting cards

“Ek common man ko mili hai pari, jaise cheeku ke saath ho raspberry
Aage aage momma aur peechay peechay daddy, jaise ho Tom and Jerry
Momma hai sweet srikhand and papa ghee wali poori
Mauka hai khushi ka aaj, momma aur daddy ki anniversary”

 

9. When he proved that he was a literary genius – he could even compose lines on toilets

“Uff ye kabz, ye acidity,
Uff ye roz jana 1 ghanta bathroom.
Ye blue tiles ke beech white white toilet,
Jaise neele aasman ke beech baadal maasoom”

 

10. When he did the impossible – making Maya speechless!

“Momaa tum ho kitni pyari,
Hum hai raaste ke andhe bhikari,
Bheek main de do thodi mamta tumhari”

 

11. When he told his Mom how much she meant to him…by writing a Shraddhanjali before she died

“Meri moma Maya Sarabhai, yaani ishwar ki di hui badhaai
Ishwar ki samjhaai hui sachaai, ki duniya maaya se hi bani banaai
Sab kuch hai maaya, yeh sofa yeh kaaya
Ishwar ne table-cloth bhi hai maaya se banaaya
Rista bhi maaya, raasta bhi maaya, lunch dinner aur breakfast bhi maaya
Maya to sophistication ka pratik hai, thodi contemporary thodi antique hai
Maya to hai mamta ka chhaya, sara pyaar aata always via maaya
Maaya hai jeevan ki preyasi, Maya hai jaise dining table ki kursi
Maaya hi dudh, Maya hi lassi, phir kaise kahu ki maaya chal basi?”
